Athlon 64 FX-60 is expected to arrive on the market at the start of next year and the latest information states that it will be the first FX model with dual processor cores. Athlon 64 FX-60 will be clocked to 2.6GHz at each core which means that it will have a generally lower frequency than its predecessor FX-57 with its 2.8GHz. That makes FX-57 pressumably the faster one in most game tests where dual cores processors so far only are marginally faster, if anything at all. At The Inquirer they’ve posted information that shows a system running X1800 XT graphic cards in Crossfire with both FX-57 and FX-60 where the first comes out as the winner in 3Dmark05. Although we would like to know how dual core optmized drivers would change this relation in 3Dmark, something NVIDIA are the sole providers for at the moment. Source: The Inquirer
