It seems that AMD will not let all of those Socket 939 owners pass by unnoticed as it has now appeared information at the website that says that the new flagships, Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and FX-62, will both be launched for Socket AM2 and Socket 939. Both models are already available with the AM2 platform, but now it seems that also Socket 939 owners will get to enjoy these models. It could be a printing error in AMD’s processor lists but if this turns out to be correct it shows AMD will not just leave the 939 platform to die in the shadow of AM2.
