Now it is AMD’s turn to “upgrade” to a 200MHz FSB. Today the Barton-core got a new member in its family called Athlon XP 3200+. With a speed of 2.2GHz, a total of 640 kb cache memory and a 200 (400) MHz FSB it is hopefully a new CPU with power enough to compete with the next generation of Pentium 4 processors.
Many sites released their reviews today. It will not take a long time until we’ll get our review up either (if you want to trust AMD). Read a few of the many reviews here:
- The Tech Report
- 3D Velocity
- Hot Hardware
- Extreme Tech
- Toms Hardware Guide
- Icroncritic
- Firing Squad
- AMD Board
The results seems to differ depending on the reviewer. An advice is to read a few reviews to get a fair picture of the Athlon XP 3200+.
