Catalyst 5.12 is the first official drivers for ATI’s graphic cards that has optimizations for processors with dual cores. ATI has had a nice development with frequent updates with news the last two years, but support for dual core is something its has lacked and something the competition, NVIDIA, has. Now it’s time for ATI to get up to par with suport for dual core but the question is how well it has implemented it. At TweakTown they’ve published an article about Catalyst 5.12 and its performance compared to ATI’s Catalyst 5.11 drivers. The results are very promising and shows that ATI has already come a long way where they see, logically enough, the biggest differences with tests that are limited by the processor, but also where the graphic card has to work more than usual.
