ATI CrossFire – the answer to nVidia SLI

ATI CrossFire looks to be the name of ATI’s won “SLI-technology” with support for dual graphic cards working as one. ATi has patented the brand “CrossFire” which will according to several sources be the name of AT”s multi-VPU technology which we’ve reported on earlier here at NH. ATi CrossFire will be presented in public for the first time during Computex and according to rumours day two is the day for ATi and its CrossFire-technology. We’ve earlier said that you will be able to use your existing ATi-based graphic cards with a CrossFire-configuration and this is still the case, but today’s cards will only work as a “slave” thus you will have to buy a new “master”-card to make it work.
