ATi has been expected “to do a 7800” at the launch of its R5xx-architecture. nVidia namely became broke a long streak of “paper launches” with its GeForce 7800 GTX. Earlier a graphic card launch wasn’t more than a display of some reference cards with the media and the consumers had to wait for several weeks before the cards actually arrived in stores. But when it launched the 7800-series there was loads of cards available the very same day. Now ATi is about to do the very same thing with its R5xx-architecture, but there is a catch. It is namely not R520, the top model expected to be called X1800 that will be avilable in stores, but only the low and mid end circuits RV515 and RV530. Both of these will be available in big quantities in stores at the launch, but R520-based cards are expected to be delayed by three to four weeks. Keep your fingers crossed and wish for that ATi will be able to deliver its R520-circuits as fast as possible. Source: Toms Hardware
