ATi is planning fire new chipsets for AMD Socket M2

Socket M2 is a new platform that we will see next year supporting AMD’s K8-architecture, which among others brings support for DDR2. ATi is according to DigiTimes working on five new chipsets for Socket M2, among others RD580, which we’ve already seen mainboards with for the socket 939-platform. We are expecting more information about Socket M2 but for now at least it seems that AMD will receive good backing for its new platform.
