ATi has not only launched its new set of Catalyst-drivers for Windows but also new drivers for Linux in the form of ATi Linux Display Driver v8.18.6. The new drivers doesn’t add support for CrossFire with Linux but will add a number of new features which until now has been missing. At Phoronix they’ve reviewed the new drivers to check out what they have to offer and take a closer look at, among others, Dynamic Clock Gating, the support for dual-link monitors and the support for the multi-monitor technology Xinerama. Those who are using Linux and have a Radeon-graphic card this is some very interesting reading, no benchmarks yet though, but the general impression of them so far is very good. :: Read on about ATi Linux Display Driver v8.18.6 at Phoronix
