CES brings many news, and one of the first from AMD is the new mobile graphics card series ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3000. The first of its kind sporting DirectX 10.1. The series contains two models, Mobility Radeon HD 3400 and 3600, where the goal is to offer both 3D performance and advanced video playback technology. The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3000 family sports both DirectX 10.1 and PCI Express 2.0, but is also the first to offer integrated DisplayPort support in laptops. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3000 has been optimized for AMD’s coming mobile platform Puma.



The new mobile graphics card series also sports AVIVO HD with an upgraded version of AMD’s Unified Video Decoder (UVD), which enables full hardware playback of 1080p material, no matter if it’s Blu-ray or HD DVD.

The first two models, Mobility Radeon HD 3400 and 3600, are already available in laptops from ASUS, among others ASUS M50 and F8 series.
