To many ATI-owners this is quite positive news which means that consumers that has invested a large portion of money on graphic cards based on the X8xx-series doesn’t have to replace their cards to be able to use ATI’s coming SLI-technology. ATI will namely use an external SLI-conection, which means you won’t have to alter the cards PCB. Exactly how this decision will affect the performance remains to see but its very comforting to see that ATI is considering its buyer’s when developing its new SLI.
