On the processor market Intel has been the leading actor when it comes to new manufacturing processes, something we can see pretty clearly today as Intel for long been working with 65nm technology while AMD is still using older 90nm technology. On the graphics card market ATI has often had an advantage, although considerably smaller than that of Intel, and has now released more information about its future manufacturing processes. Right now it is manufacturing graphics cards with 80nm technology at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and the cooperation with the circuit manufacturer seems to be stretching far ahead into the future. ATI has namely pointed that it is planning on starting 45nm manufacturing at TSMC in 2008.
