ATI Radeon X1900 goes after G71

ATI has barely gotten the low supply of its Radeon X1800 XT under hand as we now here rumours about its successor. According to the Chinese site HKEPC the card will be called Radeon X1900 and the circuit is the rumoured R580. X1900 will according to this information appear during the first quarter of 2006, in other words the same time as NVIDIA’s G71 circuit which will be launched as the successor for the 7800 GTX 512MB. Apparently extreme graphic cards with extreme prices isn’t just a fad either, partners to ATI is namely suggesting that during 2007 we will see graphic cards as expensive as the most extreme processors of today. Which would mean about 1000 USD, which in turn makes 7800 GTX 512MB look cheap with its price tag at 649 USD.
