ATi Radeon Xpress 1100 is the latest chipset family by graphics card manufacturer ATI and Xpress 1100 is intended for AMD’s new mobile Turion 64 X2 processorer that was recently launched. ATI has with Radeon Xpress 1100 gone for an energy efficient and highly integrated chipset where we find support for DDR2-667 memory and an integrated Radeon X300 graphics circuit. ATI has launched its new chipset in two versions, Xpress 1100 and Xpress 1150. The first has a graphics circuit working at 300MHz while the latter has the same circuit working at 400MHz. ATI focus a lot on the fact that the Radeon Xpress 1100 sports Windows Vista and the new integrated graphics circuit is suppose to be up to 33% faster than the preceding Radeon Xpress 200M chipset.
The X300 graphics circuit comes with DirectX 9 support, Shader Model 2.0 and through the HyperMemory technology you will be able to use up to 128MB graphics memory, at the cost of RAM then. Several large manufacturers have already adapted ATI’s new chipsets and among these we find HP, Fujitsu-Siemens and Gateway, which all have laptops based on the Xpress 1100 circuit coming.
