RS690 is one of the most anticipated chipsets from ATI at the moment. The chipset is an integrated such and use a DirectX 9-capable graphics circuit based on the X700LE chip. This graphics circuit will house four pipelines and support for Shader Model 2.0, but also an HDMI output and HDCP support that looks interesting. Now it seems that some medias have been able to get a hold of early versions of the first RS690 motherboards intended for AMD’s Socket AM2 platform. At the Italian site Hardware Upgrade have done some quick tests with one of ATI’s reference boars that offers both nice features and overclocking potential.

They had, according to information, no problems with pulling the motherboard up to a 320MHz FSB and for a reference board this is pretty good.
