ATI has received a lot of bad press for its mediocre southbridge and many motherboard manufacturers has chosen to use other companies’ southbridges instead, e.g. ULi’s circuit, something even ATI has recommended. The southbridge that is suppose to change all this is known as SB600 and we’ve now received information that states that we will see ATI’s new southbridge in May. That the arch rival NVIDIA acquired the circuit manufacturer ULi felt like an obvious reason for ATI to make a high quality southbridge of its own and now it seems we will see the new circuit already in just a month.
