AMD’s acquisition of ATI has not yet been finalized even if we’re getting pretty close. Many are curious to know if, and then how, AMD will change the marketing of ATI’s products and whether the brand ATI will remain or not. According to inofficial information from a Russian hardware site, AMD has decided to keep ATI’s brand on the graphics card market. It seems however like ATI’s chipset products will end up under AMD’s own brand.
Consumer electronics from ATI and chipsets for AMD’s own processors will be put under AMD’s wings. The chipsets for Intel’s processors and ATI’s graphics card will remain “ATI”. This information has not been confirmed by neither AMD nor ATI but it sounds like a plausible solution.
