Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 may be even more important than we’ve previously anticipated as ASUS has also entered the game. It unveiled its coming Xonar D2 sound card during Computex. Auzen X-Fi Prelude looks to become a tweaked version of Creative’s X-Fi board, with some high-quality components and some new technology, e.g. Dolby Digital encoding. This is something that Xonar D2 will also offer and something many X-Fi users have been requesting. Creative has replied by letting a third-party developer design a card based on the X-Fi sound procesor and it seems that the X-Fi Prelude will go in to mass production next week. This means that the Auzen X-Fi Prelude should become available at the end of July if everything goes well. The card is namely already late.
