Auzentech Prelude 7.1 was something that really caught our attention when we first heard the news that Auzentech will use Creative’s X-Fi sound circuit for its own purposes. It has simply taken Creative’s popular chip and tried to improve the performance and features of the circuit. Among others, the card sports Dolby Digital encoding, which is something many X-Fi owners have been requesting, and something ASUS is boasting with its new Xonar D2. But Auzentech will also revise the X-Fi cards’ other circuits and components to make sure the circuit keeps its broad gaming features and at the same time improve the sound quality.

At hardwarecanucks.com they’ve posted some juicy details on the card and its components, and what its is claimed to be the first picture of Auzentech Prelude 7.1.

“This pic should keep people dreaming for quite a while. You have a “Gamer” card with the amazing sound quality of higher end HTPC card like the X-Meridian 7.1. and you get support for realtime Dolby Digital encoding and future support for HDMI 1.3.”

Even if Creative is the creator of the X-Fi circuit, Auzentech will be the first to develop a secondary and very interesting card based on the X-Fi chip. We’re very eager to see how Auzentech Prelude 7.1 will stand up to ASUS Xonar D2 and it seems that the card will arrive toward the end of June instead of May.
