A new rumor claims that Halo: Campaign Evolved is just the beginning of a series of remasters and that Halo 2 and 3 will receive the same treatment.

According to a new rumor, it’s not just the first game in the Halo series that’s getting a new version of its campaign. New versions of the second and third games are now said to be on the way. However, these will also be without any kind of multiplayer mode.

The reason for the multiplayer part being cut is said to be the upcoming Halo 7. Halo Studios doesn’t want to divide its player base between the online modes of several different games. Thus, these have been removed from the new versions and only the single-player parts remain. Which is still quite understandable since the games would technically become each other’s competitors when it comes to online gaming.

First up will be Halo: Campaign Evolved, which will land in 2026. Here with a total remake of the first Halo game in Unreal Engine 5. After that, Halo 2 and 3 will get the same type of remake sometime in the future. Halo 7 will then be the next actual new game in the series. However, it is rumored that it will not be called “Halo 7” but no official name has been confirmed. We also do not know exactly when that title will be launched.
