BenQ might have to delay its manufacturing of Blu-ray units a quarter or two as it is having problems interating BDA’s (Blue-ray Disc Association) DRM-protection. BenQ has earlier planned on making its first Blu-ray units during the first or second quarter of 2006 but now it seems it will be later than that. The problems with the DRM-protection might also force media-manufacturers Ritek and CMC Magnetics to delay the production of av Blu-ray media. Which most likely will be a big pro for HD DVD and its media which will be manufactured at the end of 2005 or the start of 2006, just as planned.
