BenQ launch 24″ and 30″ LCD monitors at CeBIT

Small preview imageBenQ has together with Viewsonic been the two driving forces behind today’s fast LCD panels and the companies has in turns launched “the world’s fastest LCD monitors”. Now it seems that BenQ has realized that there is more to monitors than just response times, e.g. size and resolutions. At CeBIT 2006 BenQ will launch a whole set of new products and among these we find two new, and big, LCD monitors. BenQ FP241W and BenQ FP301W measures 24″ and 30″ that both use the new HDMI interface. FP2401W is expected to arrive in stores in June. Other specifications include a pretty fast response time at 8ms and a contrast ratio at 1000:1.

FP301W is not expected to arrive until the fourth quarter and so far there is no information available about the panel’s response time, but the contrast ratio is at 700:1. The resolution will be at 1920x1200px for the 24″ and 2560x1600px for the 30″, standard for these sizes. More and more manufacturers are are going for bigger LCD monitors and hopefully this means that the prices will drop while we get more monitors to chose from.
