BitFenix is a case developer that started its venture last Spring and has now started shipping products to stores. BitFenix Colossus is the name of a large and cocky case, but NordicHardware can now reveal that the company has both smaller and more stylish models coming.
BitFenix started big with the Colossus case and with twelve harddrive slots and a brute weight of 16kg it is a sturdy piece. Colossus has been praised in the press, but readers have been a bit worried about the cocky design with integrated LED effects.
Even if BitFenix Colossus has an overall stylish design it is not enough for all the minimalists out there. We have now been able to dig up some exclusive information on BitFenix’ plans for the future where, beside the LAN case Survivor, with is slated for Q4 launch, we can expect more minimalistic models.
According to reliable sources BitFenix is evaluating a new miditower that will focus on a clean design and a very competitive price. The price will be as low as 50€, which sounds very competitive if it can maintain a high quality and great finish. No details have been decided yet, but the case will be a miditower and house ATX motherboards. if everything goes as planned we can look forward to a ready product in January 2011, perhaps a direct competitor to Fractal Design and its dashing cases.
We hope to offer more information when we close in on launch, and of course keep an eye on BitFenix’ other plans where we can expect plenty of news.
