We earlier reported about how HD DVD was very optimistic about the future and that it through its early launch would be able to outcompete Blu-ray. When the Blu-ray leaders and its supporters get to share their opinions the story is a lot different. A victory for Blu-ray is simply unavoidable and this is more or less based on one thing, Playstation 3. Through Playstation 3 it has gained a base of over 1 million players in North America, while HD DVD is still at 15-20% of this. At Hardware Upgrade they’ve summarized HD DVD vs. Blu-ray during CES and discuss both today and the future of the two formats.
