Even if it’s mainly high-end models and the real flagships that end up in the spotlight, for obvious reasons, since these are the cards that introduce new technologies and possibilties, these are far from the cards that sell the most; these are the low-end cards. This is a segment where Intel is selling tons of circuits explaining its huge part of the graphics market, I.e. through its integrated graphics circuits with no performance worth mentioning. At Tech Report they’ve therefore done a rather interesting comparison between low-end cards where they not only check out ATI’s Radeon X1300 Pro and NVIDIA’s GeForce 7300 GS circuits, but also S3’s Chrome S27 circuit and NVIDIA’s integrated graphics circuit GeForce 6100.

They don’t present any impressive benchmarks, but still more than enough for those who wants to play with decent graphical settings. S3 show that is actually a part of the game even if it perhaps doesn’t make it all the way, despite an impressive theoretic performance.
