Japanese manufacturer Buffalo has announced a new kit of DDR3 modules of its enthusiast oriented series also known as Firestix. The modules operate at record high 2200MHz, requiring an operating voltage of 2.1V. This is of course much, much higher than what Intel recommends for its Core i7 series of processors. However if you’re one of the people accustomed to running things at subzero temperatures these may be worth a shot.
The modules are rated PC3-17600 with 9-9-9-24 timings. The 1GB modules are only available in kits of two. Price and availability are uncertain at this time.
