Storage maker Buffalo caught our attention with its RUF2-PS family of extremely low profile USB memories offering up to 16GB storage. The USB memory extends only 5mm from the USB port and it has continued down the same patch with its new RMUM-8GH series of card readers. It’s a USB card reader that accepts microSD or microSDHC memory cards, common standards among mobile phones.
The memory card reader has a design similar to the that of Buffalo’s previously mentioned USB memory and just like the sibling it needs nearly no space at all outside the computer. The actual USB connector is the biggest component. It supports microSDHC memory cards up to 16GB and at GeekStuff4U this combo costs $159.65.
The launch is expected to happen at the end of the month.
