We will have to wait longer for Intel Ivy Bridge, but the company that needs a refreshment most of all, AMD, has been forced to delay Bulldozer too. The information on the delay varies between sources and we cannot confirm this, but it looks like AMD will do a paper launch of Bulldozer.
AMD’s coming architecture on the performance front Bulldozer looks to be delayed once more? At least if we are to believe the latest rumors. Several sources have reported that motherboard manufacturers is still lacking final production samples of Bulldozer and the channels are empty, which should started to fill now that the launch is slated for June/July.
What we see on the new pictures looks to be four whole new models to replace the earlier FX-8130, FX-8110, FX-6110 and FX-4110 and logically it looks like AMD has lowered the bar somewhat with all models, except the top model that has been promoted to FX-8150. The launch date says September, which is anything but encouraging. There is still talk of AMD talking showing Bulldozer at Computex, but this is a company that has the policy of never releasing benchmarks pre-launch.
There are no confirmations today, but something that is for certain is that AMD desperately needs new circuits since Intel will increase its lead with Sandy Bridge-E in Q4, but at least Llano seems to be on track for a Summer launch, which should be able to hold some ground until Bulldozer arrives.
