Catalyst 6.11 CCC is the eleventh graphic card driver from ATI this year and the big news with this version will be that all Radeon X1900 and Radeon X1950 graphics card can now be used in all kinds of CrossFire setups. This is without a Master card or an external “dongle”, which is what ATI calls the cable it has for connecting the two cards. We don’t know how efficient this software solution is, but for obvious reasons this doesn’t affect Radeon X1950 Pro, which was designed to run without both Master card and dongle, but uses an internal connection. ATI has also succeeded with pressuring a whole lot of extra performance from its CrossFire configurations in e.g. Call of Duty 2. More information about the driver can be found at AMD’s website.
