Catalyst 6.6 – improvements for Media Center users

Catalyst 6.6 has recently been launched by ATI as its sixth driver of the year and there is actually a lot of news with this driver considering it is just a month since the last release. ATI has added support for its new TV tuner chip, Theater 650 Pro, and integrated support for its AVIVO Video Converter with Windows Media Center Edition. This means that you can use the rendering power of ATI’s X1x00family when you convert video formats directly with Windows Media Center. Except from these additions it has tuned the performance especially with the Radeon X1800/X1900 series when using anisotropic filtering, which you can clearly see in TweakTown’s test of Catalyst 6.6.
