We already reported on that both the Pentium 4 series, for the desktop market, and Xeon, for the server market will be updated with a new core soon, G-1. The new core will support AMD64 which means it has added two new processor instructions which has been missing compared to AMD’s architecture. Now The Register has got their hands on information that claims that Intel Celeron D will also be updated with the new G-1 core on December 2nd. We have also found out that the G-1 core will live up to the RoHS standards. Which means that the coming cores from Intel will not containt any hazardous or toxic substances.
