Chieftech has launched a new computer case that is quite different from most of the cases we run into. First of all the shape of the case can be read in the name, L-type. The case is indeed shaped like an L, when viewed in profile, unfortunately it is just as angular as the letter. The reason of this somewhat unusual shape is that L-type not only holds all of your components but also has brackets for attaching an LCD display. In other words, the case will carry all of your components, and the only peripheral you need to pack is the mouse and keyboard.
It’s hard not comparing L-type to Apple iMac or Dell XPS One, but the system is not designed for the same market, which becomes painfully clear when you see the case. The case can hold pretty much any components and LCD displays up to 24″ can be mounted on the VESA standard mount.
Chieftech has come up with a really innovative solution to the space problems that many users suffer from, but to be completely honest we’re a bit skeptical to the L-type design. Especially when you see the left side of the “beauty”. The case will appear in January and cost around £50 says Hexus, which sounds quite reasonable though.
