A couple of days ago we reported about Chip-con and their homepage with the count-down meter for the launch of their upcoming Prometeia unit. By then there were already rumours going around concerning specifications and names, but no information was official. We were also able to share some inside information, but unfortunately we were unable to spread the information before the official launch.
So, now its time, and Chip-con have launched their new new Prometeia named ‘Prometeia Mach II’. The rumours spread a couple of days ago have turned out to be rather false, but Mach II clearly offers better performance than its predecessor.
The compressor used in the new unit can handle a maximum heat load of 200W, which is 33% more than the old unit. That is however a little confusing since the old unit according to some information also could handle a load of 200W. The old specifications have been changed to 150W, and the new unit is still supposed to be a 33% more efficient cooler, and by that, the worst confusion should be taken care of.
The Mach II unit has quite a few other improvements over the old unit, as you can see below:
- Capable of removing 200W
- Undisputed extreme performance
- Improved condensation prevention
- Intelligent heat control system
- Lower noise operation
- Highly improved start-up procedure
- Windows® based user interface
- State of the art SMD Chip-controller
- Online error reporting system
- Internet upgradeable firm- & Software
- Optional System display (in various colors)
New selectable housing system (aluminum)
