Google recently released the source code of its coming operating system Chrome OS and now that the code is available to developers it is also possible for anyone to test Google’s latest project. Chrome OS won’t be going gold until midst of next year and now that the first previews have appeared we know why that is.
TweakTown, who has looked closer at the operating system through VMWare Workstation 7, wasn’t impressed by neither performance or features. Even if much of the performance loss was due to the virtual installation it says that many of the statements made by Google earlier on remains to be lived up to.
Google has plenty of time to do though, but then again Windows 7 was felling pretty solid with more than a year left to launch e. We’re certain Google will do everything in its power to live up to its promises, but whether it will do so in time or not remains to be seen.
