Utvecklaren Good OS har nu meddelat att man tagit fram ett nytt så kallat snabb-OS. Det handlar om ett ordentlig funktionsbantat operativsystem som en dator kan starta på bara ett par sekunder, samma koncept har vi sett tidigare med bland annat ASUS ExpressGate. Cloud heter detta nya snabb-OS som använder sig av bland annat Google Chrome för webbsurfning och Windows Live för kommunikation. En av de största förespråkarna för Cloud är ASUS stora konkurrent Gigabyte som kommer att visa upp pelskärms netbooks med operativsystemet tillsammans med Windows XP tidigt nästa år.

Cloud features a beautifully designed browser with an icon dock for shortcuts to favorite apps, tabs for multi-tasking between web and rich client apps, and icons to switch to Windows, power off, and perform other necessary system functions. Users power on their computers, quickly boot into Cloud for Internet and basic applications, and then just power off or boot into Windows for more powerful desktop applications.
