New prouct plans from Intel has listed an until now unknown version of the manufacturer’s Core architecture, namely Conroe-L. Intel presents Conroe-L as a single core processor, where as the Conroe model is known for its dual cores. Conroe-L is listed to be launched during the second quarter of 2007 and then as a complement to Intel’s Cedar Mill chip. Noteworthy is that Conroe-L is expected to arrive 9 months after Conroe and at the same time you might wonder how Intel is suppose to manufacture these chips as it is indeed easier to simply deactivate one of the two cores with a Core 2 Duo processor than developing a whole new model with only one core.
