Cool your computer with ion winds

The completely silent computer is something many of us are dreaming about. Sure, you can get close, really close, by optimizing airflows, using passive cooling as much as possible or even use water cooling. In all of these cases there are at least some moving parts, but over at InventGeek they’ve now published an article where they’ve managed to cool a computer without using any moving parts at all and the secret, if you can call it that, is using ion winds. They simply create air movement through electricity. The result was very impressive and the price for total silence was far less than we had expected.
