Copy protection appears frequently in the news, but lately there has been an exta focus on the copy protection used with CDs. The reason is of course Sony’s use of rootkit with their copy protection, which has made both critics and consumers rage. Music stores says that more and more people are putting back CDs marked with copy protection as they have, or people they know have, had problems with compatibility or simply doesn’t want to be limited in the use of the music. EMI and Sony are two of the companies that are working hard on creating copy protections and will continue doing so, but now it seems this may very well be the very end of the CD market.
