Over the last couple of years we have seen more and more fully mature motherboards in smaller sizes. With Intel’s integrated Clarkdale processors the interest is bigger than ever and multiple manufacturers are lining up micro-ATX motherboards. We have already shown models from Biostar and MSI but now we have pictures and specifications from more companies, Big names like ASUS, Gigabyte and ASRock.
ASUS will be offering a whole bunch of motherboards based on the Intel H55 and H57 chipsets where several of them will be micro-ATX. One of these is ASUS P7H55-M Pro that beside the 32nm processors brings four DDR3 memory search, one PCIe x16 slot, 12 USB 2.0 ports and digital and analog video outputs.
Gigabyte GA-H57-USB3 is one of the more well endowed models with dual PCIe x16 slots and USB 3.0 support for additional possibilities. Other nice functions include 8 channel audio circuit, eSATA connectors and three digital video outputs, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. The board also has Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable 3 construction with extra copper layers for better overclocking.
ASRock have a number of cards for Clarkdale and at least two of these will be mATX. ASRock H55M Pro and H55M where the former has four DDR3 memory slots, more SATA ports and Firewire, something the smaller model lacks. Both offers dual PCIe x16 slots, eSATA ports and 8 channel audio.
More information on the boards will arise next year when Clarkdale arrives.
