Memory manufacturer Corsair has been widening its assortment through the years with both memory products and more odd appearances such as water cooling kits. Now the next step for the company has been revealed and seen to Corsair’s competition we’re far from surprised. After OCZ, Mushkin, and others Corsair has now ventured onto the PSU market with its new HX series. It has announced two models in this series specified at 620W and 520W. The top model has a specified current at 50Amp over the +12V lines and will with a 80%+ efficiency not lose too much power in the form of heat. To cool the power supply units there is a 120mm fan that will be both effective and quiet.
Corsair ensures that its power supply units have been rigorously tested with both of ATI and NVIDIA’s multi-GPU technologies, Crossfire/SLI and seen to the specifications they will be able to handle most systems. As it should the HS series is module-based where only the necessary cables are connected.
We haven’t received any price information for Corsair HX620W and Corsair HX520W, but they should appear in stores soon.
