Corsair test heatspreders

0

Corsair has on its own behalf done some tests in its lab with various heatspreaders for memories. The tests were primarily made to investigate the competitor OCZ Technology’s new OCZ XTC heatspreaders which according to its specifications shouldn’t be an optimal solution, contrary to OCZ’s marketing. Corsair took an OCZ XTC module and tried to overclock it “at default”, and then tested the module with two of Corsair’s heatspreaders and last without any heatspreaders at all. The results was sent out in a report to various medias and at Legit Reviews they’ve chosen to publish this report. An article to be read with a couple of truckloads of salt considering the source, but still some interesting reading for those who are wondering about how much of a difference a heatspreader really makes.
