Corsair unveils DDR3-2000 modules at Computex

Small preview image

It wasn’t long ago we reported about how several people had managed to overclock DDR3 to more than 2000MHz and we’ve been hearing rumors that, among others, Corsair is planning to launch memory modules with specifications close to this. Well now Corsair has showed that it is taking DDR3 seriously by unveiling the world’s fastest production memory working at 1600MHz at Computex, but also had a preview of a Corsair Dominator which was working at 2000MHz. This is quite a lot more than today’s DDR3-1333, which is the fastest currently available.

With a single module the system was 100% stable and passed numerous memtests. When they installed a second module and pulled up the frequency to 2000MHz you could still use the computer, but it was not as stable as before.

Corsair TWIN3X2048-1600C10D DOMINATOR is ready to go into mass production and according to Corsair’s press release these DDR3-1600 modules will be available very soon. The memory timings at this speed are 10-8-8-24 and the modules will be available at 1GB or 2GB capacity. No information on the price of these monster modules.
