CPU-Z is one of the most frequently used applications for overclockers and enthusiasts that let’s them monitor processor, memory and motherboard components. The basic idea is to present detailed information and the specifications of the components. Everything from the processor frequency to motherboard manufacturer and chipset version can be read from CPU-Z. The developers, CPUID, has now released CPU-Z version 1.40 that brings a lot of updates. Among others, the program is now able to detect Intel’s coming 45nm processors Penryn, but also the new bunch of chipsets that will arrive soon.
