Creative continues to launch spin-offs of its X-Fi technology and after recently launching a USB sound card with X-Fi tech, it is time to support the laptop market, further. Creative has launched Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook sound card that is connected to a regular ExpressCard slot, which according to the manufacturer should result in an overall better and more pleasant audio experience. It’s not just the audio quality being touted by Creative, but the sound card has been completed by a wireless receiver that enables the user to stream music wirelessly throughout the home.
“The Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook when combined with the Creative Wireless Receiver frees you from having to directly connect your notebook PC to your speakers. Just relax on your couch with your notebook PC and listen to your music, play a game or watch a movie while the audio plays wirelessly through the Creative Wireless Receiver connected to powered speakers in any room of your home. You can place up to four speaker systems with Creative Wireless Receivers up to 100 feet away from your notebook and your audio will play wirelessly with no delays or dropouts, without requiring a wireless network. You can also set up individual zones to control playback independently in specific rooms.”
This certainly adds a portion of portability to any computer, but also adds a dimension to the music listening. How well it actually works remains to be seen, but you have to pay nearly $160 dollars for both components. The Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook is priced at $89.99 and available today. The Creative Wireless Receiver, priced at $69.99 will become available later this month.
