Creative Zen Stone is despite its name a real light-weight and Creative’s latest MP3 players could be considered a direct competitor to iPod Shuffle. They haven’t bothered equipping the player with any kind of display but designed it with minimal measurements and a low price. The player measures 53.7 x 35.3 x 12.8mm and weighs only 18.3G. This is slightly bigger and heavier than iPod Shuffle, but then again Zen Stone is in a whole different price segment. The recommended price is $39.99, way lower than iPod Shuffle at $79. Both players have a 1GB capacity and battery times at 10h and 12h respectively.

The price is the biggest attraction of Zen Stone and it’s going to be interesting to see what Creative can add to the budget segment of the MP3 player market.
