Creative Zen V Plus is the latest media player by Creative, a company which lately has been discussed mainly becuase of its ongoing legal fights with Apple. The new media player from Creative is a very slim version which reminds of both earlier models in the Zen series and Apple’s iPods. But Zen V Plus still comes with a rather unique look which together with its nice sound properties and tiny measurements will attract customers. Zen V Plus handles everything from MP3 to jpeg pictures and videos, at the same time Creative has integrated a FM radio into the player. Despite a long list of features it’s the size of the player Creative has chosen to focus on. It claims that it will fit into the coin pocket of your jeans and has been ergonomically designed to fit perfectly into the palm of your hand.
The measurements are more precise 43.5 x 67.5 x 15.9mm and the player weighs only 43.5 gram (1.5oz). Hardly the smallest MP3 player in the world but with a maximal storage capacity of 4GB and a 1.5″ OLED color display there are tons of nice features which sports a battery time at up to 15 hours.
The ZEN V Plus includes all of the following features:
• The smooth contours and tiny size of the ZEN V Plus enable it to fit naturally in your fingertips or to tuck away easily in a small pocket or purse. Available in glossy black or white with fun color accents of orange, green or blue, the ZEN V Plus looks as great as it feels.
• Special coating on the entire player to help prevent scratching.
• Vibrant 1.5-inch OLED screen for stunning video, photos and album art.
• Music Subcription Support – from major services such as Yahoo! Music Unlimited, Urge, Napster To Go and Rhapsody To Go, support for Audible audio books and pay-per-download services including Soundbuzz.
• Built-in FM radio with 32 station presets.
• A voice recorder for capturing notes or lectures.
• Syncs with Microsoft Outlook – includes a built-in organizer with Calendar, Contacts and Tasks.
• Direct CD Recording – with line-in connection and a Sync Track button to separate different songs recorded from an entire CD.
• Incorporates the most popular “ZEN Patent” user interface – for intuitively accessing music, photos, video and color menus and displaying album art.
Creative Zen V Plus will be launched in August and will cost $329 for 4GB, $269 for 2GB and $199 for 1GB. Those who can do without FM radio and video support can invest in the Creative Zen V, which is the same player but without these two features and a lower price of course.
