ATi has now officially given support for Crossfire with Intel’s D955X chipset. Crossfire makes it possible to use graphic cards connected together as one, just as nVidia’s SLI. But in difference to nVidia Crossfire works on other chipsets than ATi’s own. ATi and Intel has a D955XBK-mainboard running Crossfire at IDF which shows that the technology is already up and running. That Intel’s D955XBK-mainboard has already been selling for quite some time is of course a big advantage for ATI when it wil launch its Crossfire-technology. Since then some won’t have to invest in a new platform to be able to use Crossfire.
