CryTek displays DirectX 10-effects i gameplay film

Small preview imageDirectX 10 is exppected to arrive as Microsoft launch Windows Vista and during PDC 2005 the creators CryTek has displayed a short demo on some of the impressive effects that will be supported by this version of DirectX. They have used the Cry-engine used by their popular game FarCry and used some of the possibilities DirectX 10 will offer. Among others support for Shader Model 4 which will most likely arrive with DirectX 9.0L. At GamersHell.com they’ve managed to acquire this video written a little about the video.


“At the PDC Microsoft Conference, CryTek, developers of Far Cry, released a movie which shows some of the capabilities of the Cry Engine under DirectX 10 API: dynamic day/night cycle, fully interactive enviroments, sunrays and diffuse transmission, real time soft shadows, soft particles, interactive/destructrible enviroments, volumetric clouds, advanced shader technology.”
