We are still awaiting the final specifications of the new wireless 802.11n protocol and it seems we may have to wait until next year for them to arrive. However, Wi-Fi Alliance has already started certifying products for the Draft 2 version of the n protocol. D-Link has now announced that it has received an 802.11n Draft 2 certification for its DIR-655 router, which guarantees compatibility between 11n products and previous generations of wireless products (802.11b/g). DIR-655 is the first 802.11n product from D-Link to be certified and will most likely be followed by several other products and manufacturers.
