Dell 2407WFP is the anticipated sequel to the beloved 24″ LCD monitor 2405WFP that has been a great success for Dell. We have already seen 3007WFP in Dell’s new series and it has also taken the opportunity to update the smaller versions; 1707FP and 1907FP. Vi We are still waiting for the two 20″ and 24″ widescreen models though, although information about 2007WFP appeared some time ago and now similar information has appeared about the earlier 2405WFP that will be launched as 2407WFP. Except for a new design only a few things has happened with the panel. Still the same resulotion at 1920x1080px and the contrast ratio is the same at 1000:1. But instead for a response time at 16ms 2407WFP has a much lower such at only 6ms, something that should be most welcome, especially for gamers.
Information appeared at Dell’s Japanese site and the price was $1400, considerably more expensive than the 2405WFP at $999. However this might change in the USA, but as the differences between the two are quite small, faster panel and a new design, this is a doubtful purchase at the moment. Support for HDCP is not to be toyed with and it is something we hope new monitors will adapt in the future.
