When we recently reported about Zotac’s new GeForce 8800 GT with DisplayPort there were some questions regarding the new generation of monitors using DisplayPort, which was still MIA. Many manufacturers have shown interest and we know that DisplayPort-compatible monitors are on the way, the question is when. It now seems that the first monitors will appear even before the graphics cards as Dell has launched its new 3008WFP UltraSharp 30″ LCD monitor.
It sports most kinds of connectivity; D-SUB (VGA), DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort. The remaining specifications are quite similar to previous models with 8ms (GtG) response time and a contrast ratio at 3000:1.
Dell 3008WFP is ready for launch in both Japan and North America. We’re certainly looking forward to more DisplayPort products, which shouldn’t be that far away.
